Looming Housing Shortage?

Many housing experts agree that the lack of new-home construction in California during the past five years will lead to a housing shortage in the not-too-distant future. The latest expert to point that out is the Irvine Company's Dan Young. Read more in the BIASC blog.

I agree with the first half of the sentence, but not necessarily the shortfall part. Not only will there be a lot of clues that show that they'll need more homes way before the shortfall because the housing market is building so slowly, but also there will be plenty of construction companies ready to bounce on the opportunity to build homes. In theory he may be correct, but probably not in practice.
