The Building Industry Association’s LA/Ventura Chapter hosted the sold-out summit with an invigorating exploration on how Los Angeles can increase housing production and reduce costs to provide new homes.

Thanks to the more than 100 people who joined us for our 2nd Annual President's Party held at Williams Homes' Oakridge in celebration of our Board President, Scott Ouellette.

BIA-LAV hosted a Builder Roundtable with the Mayor of Los Angeles, Eric Garcetti. In a closed-door session, the Mayor reiterated his goal of seeing 100,000 new residential units come online in L.A. by 2021. Members dialoged on ways to achieve this goal, from reducing regulatory red-tape, to incentivizing construction near transit stops. Garcetti stated his support for the Small Lot Ordinance and committed to continue working with builders to facilitate construction during this critical time. BIA-LAV will begin hosting regular meetings with the Mayor's team in the coming months to ensure that residential development remains a top priority for the administration.

Our 2nd Annual Stogies & Brews event was a tremendous success with more than 75 members joining us for a great networking event.

This year's Golf Tournament was a huge success! Our golf committee worked tirelessly again this year and their hard work paid off. A special thank you to our Golf Committee chairs, Al Lee of Lennar Communites and Rich Villasenor of KB Home for once again leading us to close to a sold out Golf Tournament! We are grateful to all of our sponsors, foursomes and supporters for once again making this a memorable Golf Tournament!

The BIALAV held its Installation Dinner at Sportsmen's Lodge in Studio City on October 30, 2014.
